In “This Winter” by Alice Oseman the happiest time of year is also the most draining and difficult. It’s hard work to make the holidays happy, when the past few months has been incredibly tough on the Spring siblings.
Christmas will be quite challenging this year for Tori, Charlie and Oliver Spring, who just want to spend a drama-free Christmas Day together. However, when you are dealing with a lot and struggling with your mental health, a whole day spent with ignorant and misinformed relatives is absolutely not the best thing for your recovery. But Christmas only comes around once a year and Charlie must power through as best he can. Luckily, he has his protective sister, Tori, and sweet brother, Oliver, to support him through it all.
“This Winter” by Alice Oseman is a short novella that takes place a few months before the plot of “Solitaire” and tells a story about several of Oseman’s most beloved characters from her popular graphic novel series “Heartstopper”.
